“Being in the friend-zone is a self-inflicted form of oppression. You put yourself through pain every day being with the one you love so much, but you keep your mouth shut because you don’t want to ruin what’s already there. You live in constant fear of accidentally saying the wrong thing and its consequences. It’s the same routine every day and you only get so much out of the friendship because the limits only go so far. But when you finally break free of your oppression by saying how you feel, you are free, no matter the outcome.”
